What’s the deal with the new construction boom?

Posted April 12, 2019 12:21:14Construction is booming in Brisbane.

It’s not just the city that’s experiencing the boom, but also the rest of Queensland.

Here’s what we know about it so far.

Construction boom in Brisbane City area The construction boom in Queensland has been a bit of a surprise.

Since 2011, Queensland’s construction sector has grown by almost 40 per cent.

Construction in Brisbane’s City area has grown significantly too.

According to data from the Queensland Bureau of Statistics, construction rose by 6.7 per cent in the City and suburbs between June 2018 and June 2019.

That’s an increase of nearly 4.8 per cent compared to the same period last year.

The City and surrounding suburbs are home to a lot of construction jobs, and a lot more than that, according to a study by the Australian Institute of Architects.

Brisbane City’s employment rate is higher than the national average, with the number of jobs in the city growing by 8.4 per cent from January 2018 to June 2019, according the Bureau of Resources and Energy Economics.

Queensland’s population is projected to grow by over 200,000 by 2031.

It means there will be plenty of work to be done.

According the University of Queensland’s Professor Tom Pannell, there are a number of factors to consider when looking at the boom in construction jobs in Brisbane and across Queensland.

Pannelli said the boom has been fuelled by a number, but there are two major drivers that have been the driving force.

“One is that we’re on the cusp of the next boom,” he said.

“Secondly, the construction industry is growing at a very rapid pace.

We’re seeing growth in areas such as the CBD and on the east coast, which is very exciting.”

What’s in a construction boom and how do we know it’s real?

Queensland Construction Council chief executive Steve Ritchie said the Queensland construction industry was in a very good place right now.

“It’s not that we have a shortage of people, but we have an abundance of people coming in,” he told ABC Radio Brisbane.

“We’ve got over 800 construction sites in the State right now.”

That said, it’s still early days for Queensland’s industry.

There are still a number areas where there are still some areas that are not up to scratch.

“In some areas, you still have areas that have the capacity to be built,” Ritchie told ABC News Breakfast.

“But it’s a very, very tight window of time.”

“I think that’s going to increase over time, as we’re building new infrastructure and infrastructure that’s actually being built,” he explained.

The state is also building a number new roads, including a road in Cairns that will be able to accommodate up to 300 vehicles a day.

The State Government has earmarked around $5.3 billion for roads over the next 10 years.

What about the Government’s plans to boost the economy?

The Queensland Government has announced plans to increase the number and scale of jobs created by infrastructure projects in Queensland by a whopping 20,000 jobs over the coming decade.

Queensland Infrastructure Minister Simon Birmingham said the government would spend $100 million to invest in the Queensland Construction Investment Fund (QCIF) to create 100,000 new construction jobs over four years.

Birmingham said Queensland’s growth in construction is one of the most robust in the country.

“Construction is a very important sector of our economy.

It is the third largest source of employment in Queensland,” he added.

“To have it grow at such a fast rate is testament to the strong support we’re getting from the community.”
