A romance in India is not just about the words, according to one of the most respected love experts.
Here’s what to look out for.
A couple, for instance, who is flaky and doesn’t show the requisite interest in their partner, can get stuck in a relationship for long.
This is because they are not looking for a “long-term relationship”.
Instead, these people just want to get married and get a “good job”, said Prashant Duggal, a professor of psychology at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi.
It’s a common misconception that a flappy person will be unfaithful, but this is not the case.
In fact, according the International Dating Association, flaky people tend to have more emotional relationships with their partners.
This means they are more likely to have a positive attitude towards each other and want to improve their relationship.
A flaky relationship also has a “negative effect” on a couple’s marriage because of the lack of emotional intimacy.
This can make it harder for a couple to feel comfortable and relaxed with their relationship, said Dr Duggals research assistant, Arun Pandey.
This is why people tend not to marry a flapper.
“It can lead to more resentment,” he said.
So what’s the best way to spot someone who’s flaky?
Well, a good way to pick out someone who is a flake is to make them uncomfortable.
“If someone feels uncomfortable around you, they tend to get more aggressive.
They might get angry, and start hitting you,” said Duggas research assistant.
This may be because they feel you are trying to hurt them.
“People who are insecure about themselves will get flak because they can’t control their own emotions,” said Dr Pandey, adding that the flapper will be more likely than the flake to become a “psychopath”.
