Microwave - The Fastest Way to Rob Your Food of Nutrients and Fill It With Carcinogenic Toxins.
Personally, I have always mistrusted microwaves. Any kind of short cut makes me suspicious. I think there are very few things in life where shortcuts do not present a much more serious problem than you initially started with. Things like “Lose 10 pounds in 2 days” diets, finding love of your life in one week, taking a pill whether for medical condition or weight loss, all result in gaining more weight later on, horrible side effects or finding a psycho for a boyfriend/girlfriend. Microwave for me was in the same category of things that deliver fast results at a terrible price. However, seeing friends and family using it on the regular basis and looking at me like a crazy person because I would not eat or drink something out of the microwave made me want to look into whether there was a good reason to avoid the microwave.
Having no scientific background, I am easily duped when people start to explain why something is bad or good in scientific terms. So when I was told that there is no harm to the microwaving foods or drinks because all it does is heat up the food by moving the molecules faster and thus getting faster results, I thought maybe I am behind times and it is one of those miraculous technological inventions that is made to make life easier.
Well, trust your gut, I have said to myself many times before and this time it appears to be just as good of an advice as ever.
So what does microwave do that makes it so bad? It sends electric currents through your food or drink changing its molecular structure and thus destroying the nutrients that the poor quality soil did not get a chance to destroy in your food. If this was all that the microwave did for you it would be bad but given a real need to save time you could substitute some of the nutrient loss with a good multivitamin. But, unfortunately, loss of nutrients is not the worst that microwaving your food or drink does for you. Because the type of dishes you can use in your microwave are limited, when you microwave your foods in the allowed container, it destroys the molecular structure of the container similarly to the destruction of the nutrients in your food. This process allows the chemicals that, for example, make up the plastic or paper containers leak into your food or drink and later into your body. These chemicals cannot be digested by your body and some are known to be carcinogenic.
As such not only do we destroy the remaining nutritional value in our already not so nutritious food we also fill it with carcinogenic chemicals. Just a food for thought next time you decide to reheat your left overs in that convenient radiation machine in your kitchen.
